My attorney has asked for the I-485 to be printed:

Did anyone else do the same?
for what its worth I printed mine single sided. I hope USCIS is not as nitpicky as your lawyer. I printed in black ink, maybe if it was pink or green or orange they might raise an eyebrow, otherwise I hope they dont really care

As a California immigration lawyer who files many asylum cases, I am used to thinking of a the United States as a place of refuge and to documenting the horrible country conditions of other countries. I have successfully represented applicants for asylum who feared staying in their countries because while serving in their countries' armies, they were harmed on account of their sexual orientation.
It is therefore rather surprising to come across a story of a U.S.soldier who is fleeing to Canada (http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/11/20/refugee-board-soldier-lesbian.html) because she fears harm in the U.S. Army on account of her sexual orientation. According to CBC news, U.S. Army Pte. Bethany Smith fled Canada in September 2007 from a U.S. Army base in Fort Campbell, Ky. She applied for refugee status in October 2007, saying that she was harassed and threatened by fellow soldiers over her sexual orientation and feared that her life would be in danger if she were deported and returned to the army. The Canadian authorities initially rejected in her claim in February 2009. However, on appeal, the Federal Court of Canada held that the refugee board must reconsider the case again because the Board made several mistakes in initially reviewing her claim.
The Federal Court's decision (http://www.californiaimmigrationlawyerblog.com/Smith%20and%20the%20Minister%20of%20Citizenship%20 and%20Immigration.pdf)noted that the refugee board failed to fully consider the evidence pertaining to the situation of gays and lesbians in the U.S. Army to determine whether Pte. Smith could have availed herself of protection in the United States. The Federal Court also noted that the Board failed to determine whether Pte. Smith would be persecuted on account of her social group - as a lesbian in the U.S. Army if forced to return. There were other errors mentioned in the decision.
It is sad that the U.S. policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," is the basis of an asylum claim in Canada. Pt. Smith was only 19 years old when she fled to Canada. From everything I read, it appears that she wanted to serve in the U.S. Army and no real desire to leave the United States. At a time when we apparently need people to serve in the Armed Forces and in fact give non-citizens a way to immigrate to the United States faster for their service, it seems ridiculous that an American citizen should have to leave. It it is time to eliminate the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

I am waiting for my EAD receipt and also my I-140 is not cleared yet.
I have to travel india immediately on an emergency and my attorney says that I can very much travel to India on my H1-B visa.
I was quiet surprised to hear that from my attorney as I was under the impression that it is not safe to travel outside US until my EAD is approved.
Please suggest..

Your wife will have to wait till your PD becomes current. Then only she is eligible to apply for green card.

I think the intent of the original work (http://vector.tutsplus.com/articles/theory/six-things-i-think-about-when-im-mutating-a-rabbit/) is to educate\inspire others. It is a tutorial. I followed the process the author explains and came up with the idea. I felt is could be better used for T-shirt.
It is a new expression of the underlying idea of the original work, rather than a copying of the work itself.
This is by no means plagiarism as you are accusing.
If the moderators feel that it is the case then it is ok to remove my entry from the competition.

I have a unique situation, my laywer sent I-485,EAD and AP together in July. I got the receipt for I-485 but still awaiting for the reciepts for EAD and AP. Please advise what could be done in this situation, its already been almost 5 months ?

Ensure that you have at least 90 days between the date you apply for I-485 and the TN expiry date.
TN is basically a non-immigrant visa so in case she tries for TN renewal after her I-485 has been applied, the TN will be denied. I suggest the 90 day period because you can apply for her EAD along with the I-485. EAD needs to be adjudicated within 90 days by law (I think...assuming that there are no RFE's). That will help in avoiding taking any leave from her job.
If there are less than 90 days I would suggest renewing the TN first and then applying for the I-485/EAD/AP.

There is no AC21 for derivative applicants. She can join any employer at any time. AC21 comes into picture only for primary applicant. Derivatives get almost a virtual GC in terms of EAD.

No, CIS local offices don't do this. There is no mistake on the I-94, so the only way to change it is as described in the prior answer.

In an order, the Home Ministry nullified a Labour Ministry circular which allows one per cent foreigners among the total work force in any project with a minimum of five and maximum of 20 people. "An employment visa is granted to a foreigner if the applicant is a highly skilled and/or qualified professional, who is being engaged or appointed by a company/organisation/ industry/undertaking in India on contract or employment basis," according to the Home Ministry guidelines. Besides, the ministry made it clear that employment visa shall not be granted for jobs for which qualified Indian are available and also for routine, ordinary or secretarial/ clerical jobs. "The foreign national being sponsored for an employment visa in any sector should draw a salary in excess of USD 25,000 per annum," it says. However, this condition of annual floor limit on income will not apply to ethnic cooks, language teachers (other than English), staff working for the Embassy/High Commission concerned in India. The Labour Ministry had ordered that visa applications could be cleared by the Indian missions abroad at their level if the foreign national is skilled and qualified professional, technical experts, senior executives or in managerial positions and those kinds of skills which are not available in India.

1) In DS156 should my answer to the Question� �Has Anyone Ever Files an Immigrant Petition on your behalf� be NO. FYI, my 140 is approved and waiting on 485 priority date. I don�t think I gave my wife�s name yet in my labor or 140 approval process
2) There is a section to be filled in VFS website called� Petition Details from 797/. I assume that principal applicant would be me. However I am not sure what to fill in the following questions

Can someone please explain what is Form G-639 for . I googled on G-639 but it seems my case fits more on cases when this shouldn't be used. Please please someone please try to understand. All I have is my SSN and all I know is my I-140 is being filed and approved. I don't have the SRC number.

I am an Indian citizen. I have an approved I-140 under National Interest Waiver with a PD of Aug 31, 2007. I am now a permanently employed scientist at a National Lab. I think I am now eligible for application under EB-1 Outstanding researcher category. Is it possible to apply for I-485 without another I-140? It will take quite some time to secure all the recommendation letters to apply for EB-1 (OR). I am wondering if I can bypass the whole process of I-140 and directly apply for adjustment of status based on my approved I-140 saving time and effort.
