I am currently working on EAD. My current EAD expires on September 9th 2008. I have e - filed for the renewal EAD on June 13th. The way Texas center is processing it may take a while befoire i get the renewal EAD. My question is - Can I continue working on EAD with the receipt notice of renewal EAD?

pledging and donating regularly is a novel concept for immigrant population, there has been some market research as well done on this when I was back in business school - feels a long time back!
Good to see folks coming out and signing up for recurring donations - every small amount counts as long as it is recurring.
For folks who want to celebrate the procurement of Greencard, it is fine as well but let's try focusing on the present than on future or past (courtesy: dialog from Rang De Basanti)...not trying to demean but trying to emphasize on the importance of present day!

Employer A:
-Currently on their H1 (6th year fag end) and with an ongoing 485 proces 180 days passed.
-Employer A is threatening to withdraw the I 140 if I move out from their company.
Employer B:
-Fortune Client where am currently working as a contractor
-B is filing my H1 and would be offering me to use H1 or AC 21 to port to their company.
I am transferring to company B upon H1 extension approval and then later use AC 21 when ever required.
However, before I use AC 21, if the I 140 is revoked, am I still eligible to use AC 21?
Does revoking I 140 by the employer after I 140 approval has any effect if I dont use AC 21 prior to revoking?
Past 180 days, I-140 revocation does not create any problems. Even if you get H1 transferred, you can still get EAD renewed. Make sure new job has job duties 'same/similar' (soc codes matches)

Second, you are obligated to take up employment in your field within a reasonably short time after your green card is approved. I would think that if you had already started a new semester, you could wait until it ended to resume your employment, but not much beyond that.

But I think it's thanks to CBN who pulled the consulate to Hyd when they were debating to have the consulate in Hyd or Bangalore. From what I know YSR govt just boomed up the realty prices but nothing else, though realty went up in other parts of the country too.
PS: I'm not very sure but just expressed my thoughts as we are talking about consulate/Hyd/how proud we should be etc in this thread.For those who know better or disagree with me please feel free to do so by posting in the thread but not by giving red/accompanying mssgs. These days I'm so cautious that unless absolutely sure I don't take any chances with posting on threads so as to avoid upsetting people even remotely. you can search for cases filed using start and end date - its nothing fancy or interesting as you might have imagined - if your employer is indeed saying that its hard to pull old cases - its total BS -- either they dont want you to worry or they dont want to divulge your case number
I have requested again for the screenshot mentioning the same and waiting on a response. You do seem to have an idea how it looks like, if you dont mind, would you be able to post a screenshot with all information greyed out. With that handy, if they come back with, 'no way' I can go back at them hard saying they are BS'ing me and call their bluff.

Anyone got a generic response to an I-485 Service Request that "your case is awaiting standard security checks required for everyone who applies for this immigration benefit"?

I had my FP done at San Jose ASC and It took us around 15 min for the entire process of filling the forms,waiting to be called for FP and doing the actual FP.
The lady asked me to sign on an electronic pad(some people reported that they were asked to write their full name and sign at the bottom) which I did and she gave us some feedback forms to fill out and drop in the suggestion box.
It was easy for me to locate the ASC because i used to commute by Charcot drive to take 87 on my way back home from my old office :)
A friend of mine went without the receipt. Only his wife had the receipt. They printed his receipt right there... Even tho his appnt was a week later they did his FP the same day... he had no problems with the security guard... I guess its just ur luck!

Sorry to hear that - I think it's a turn for the better! Last time I parted company it wasn't on the best of terms and quite bitter for many reasons but a few years hence it was the best that has happened to me yet

Thanks!!!...She is infact leaving this weekend.. I hope she wont have any problems while coming back. Another question..What happens if the employer withdraws the H1b while she is in India...?If she leaves now can she get her H4 stamped even if the H1b is not withdrawn?

I believe signatures on 485/131/765/140... forms are far more important than on G28's.

My AP was los in mail too (see signature). In my case I had gone to India to get 8th year H1 stamping, when the UPS guy left it at my door and I never got it. Yep, UPS, not USPS, this package was sent by my lawyer who knew I was in not at home :)
I called USCIS when I got back and they said I should re-apply if I need to go outside of US and re-enter on AP in next year, else don't worry.

Receipt Number: XXXXXXXXXX
Application Type: I131 , APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT
Current Status: REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD
On May 20, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your mailing address.
I applied ONLINE this time.
My last year parole expired on May 3rd 2009.
What type of evidence can they ask for a travel permit?
Someone on the same boat?
