I think they are probing link of your Civil Engineering and Computer Analyst job. They are looking for specific computer oriented language courses that show you have formal education in that and that should corraborate your work experience letters. Its well known that getting EB2 for computer analyst etc oriented jobs is getting difficult. They are now questioning more and more as to why analyst oriented jobs should require Masters and #2 they are looking for links between Civil Engineering education and Computer oriented job that you are trying for.!!!

During this process of recession why USCIS does not help the economy by hiring more employees or contractors and issuing green cards. However, green card guys may think of buying houses and improve economy.
Is it a good idea to request Obama, USCIS to employ more peoples(decrease unemployment), process work faster, and let the green card guys invest money in US to improve economy.

This is weird. I thought a lot of people have got EAD but did not get AP. Of course some people have got both. Can anyone shed some light on how they approve AP? In what order? I believe quite some people have travel plan during the coming months.
Is this something to be concerned about, getting AP before EAD , both are of course 124 days since receipt date.

Now that most of the cases that have LUD on their I-140 got or getting approvals, I want to track how many of you guys have an LUD on 07/13/2008. If you have any other LUD on your I-140, please post them.
Besides LUD on my approved I-140 on 7/13/08 (approved in 2/06), there were LUDS on H1B(approved 3/03, extended 9/05) on 6/28/08 and LUDs on I-485 (filed on 07/02/07) dt 5/23, 6/18, 6/25/08. Anybody seen recent LUDs on I-140+I485+I-129 BTW my pd is 10/05, EB2i Still waiting for magic mail. May lady luck smile on us.

"class of admission" -when you enter USA last time what class POE officer admitted you. This can be different from your "current status-H1B". Therefore you should write F1.

You cannot work with an expired EAD. End of the story.
But if it is approved and you haven't got the card in your hand , few companies would allow you to work for 90 days from the date of approval.

Do not worry about it. As long as you keep your job, you are fine. I've been thru the same situation, did not do anything special and got my GC.

I had my educational credentials evaluated last year and I missed last years quota in lottery. Can I use that for applying this years H1B or DO I need to get educational credentials evaluated again??

I have a question about EAD and related to it is a question of re entry in US.
I am currently on h1b visa and have approved I 140 and was able to file for I-485 application along with EAD in July 07 fiasco. I got my EAD in Aug 2007 but never used it. I did not apply for AP.
Currently I am working as a consultant for (say) Co. ABC but my h1b holder is a desi consulting firm (say) Co. XYZ.
Now Co. ABC wants to hire me on EAD and I also want to take up this position. My current h1b expires in SEP 08 and my contract with Co. ABC expires May 2nd 2008.
If I take up a FT job with Co. ABC on May3rd and then go to Canada on May 15th for 10 days and then come back on May 25th and enter on h1b, what could be the impacts???
Once you use your EAD you will no option but to enter on AP. Using your EAD would automatically cancel your H1- B � This can be reactivated by filing an amendment with USCIS � by doing so you will get an H1 for a duration that you still have remaining as part of the 6 year period (in this case an H1 amendment would cost the same as a new H1)
